Description

Aspects of English, as a book, is the first of its kind. It offers, under one cover, what, from the point of view of an Indian learner, and in the absence of a more appropriate term, may be called Total English. Not, therefore, confining itself to only the traditional treatment of Grammar and Usage, the book also incorporates an important unit on Spoken English, which forms an integral part of any process of learning English, both in its written and spoken forms. It is proposed to expose the learner, first to the sounds of English language, and after he has identified and learnt them, to bring him on to the next stage of learning, trying and being able to speak English with correct stress and accent. Thereafter he will be brought on to the theoretical formulations and concepts of Grammar and their use in real life situations. He will thus graduate to the next and the ultimate stage of English syntax which he will find easy to learn.
