I was born on 22 September into the well-known Talwar family of village Gawara Tehsil, Malerkotla District, Sangrur. It was the second day of the Navratras. My father was a well-known figure in Dhuri. He was posted as the Secretary of the Municipal Corporation here and later as Executive Officer (E.O.). He remained posted in Dhuri his whole life except for the one year when he worked in Nawanshahr. He was a very simple man. He was honest, dedicated and down to earth. He served the people with utmost hard work and sincerity. The planning and construction of the whole city of Dhuri was in fact executed by him.
